Having been named by Gordon Strachan in the Scotland squad for the coming friendlies against Italy and France, Lee Wallace has now pulled out to fully recover from an ankle problem he’s been nursing.

With the season ending following defeat to Hibernian in the Scottish Cup, Wallace knows he needs good rest for the problem to fully heal, and with the campaign beginning in July and having been an ever present for us and integral to the team’s success last term, he’s decided to put his feet up.

Having been rewarded for his performances this season with the PFA Scotland Championship Player of the Year and a double Player of the Year and John Greig award at our own recent awards evening – he’s certainly earned the rest.

Striker Barrie McKay remains in contention to earn his first Scotland cap if selected by the manager.
