Skipper Lee Wallace and Kenny Miller have both been speaking about the Rangers camp ahead of Sunday’s kick off against Motherwell.

Covering a few topics, Wallace opened the press conference run with the Official Site and he again repeated that it was a privilege to lead the boys out with the armband and he said the spirit in the camp at the moment was good, and everybody would lean on each other given the number of senior and experienced professionals we have at Ibrox.

‘It`s hugely important as I am still a young captain. I`ve been ever so privileged to have the role eighteen months or two years and to have maintained it. However, I am still learning in it and it`s something that I will keep doing. The fact that we have the five players that the manager has assigned in that captain`s role is huge for me.’

He went on to add.

‘I can lean on any one of these guys and it`s not just me, every player can go to each and every one of us for different reasons. The experience from the levels that many of the guys have played at and for a general football head, in terms of how this club moves forward, how we want to try play the game and I think it`s really important. It`s something that I think will really improve us this season.’

Referencing the five skippers within the group, Miller, Graham Dorrans, Bruno Alves, Niko Kranjcar.

‘We`ve had brief chats with the manager the five of us. I`ll also be in with the manager a fair bit as well and I think it`s just important that you have that relationship. I think what`s most important is how we transcend our way with the players who are out on the training pitch and in games. We are all going to lead in different ways and that`s a powerful tool that we have got. We can all differently, with different qualities within the five individuals and I think it will bode well for the future.’

As for Miller, he spoke about the whole group being behind Caixinha and being focused on enjoying a more successful year this time round.

‘The manager`s job was to get a more competitive team on the field of play and we are positive after the past week. We never had the chance to go away and do our usual pre-season tour so the week away in England gave us the opportunity to get to know each other a bit better. We have found a decent way of playing in these few games as well and good results breed a bit of confidence and belief in a team.’

He went on to add.

‘We are fully behind any manager of this football club because you have earned the right to manage this great club. You have to have that respect and you have earnt the right to put your ideas across. We have found a way of playing over the last three games that has been very successful for us albeit in friendlies but you can only play what is in front of you. We would have much rather there had been another three European games but unfortunately it never went that way so we had to find a level of game which would get us prepared as best we possibly could.’

Speaking about the five captains idea from Caixinha, Miller went on to add.

‘Lee is our captain and I think a lot has been made of the players we have brought in and some of their characters and CVs. But for me Lee is the captain and we don`t need the other lads to have the armband to be vocal, to be leaders and to be men which is what the manager wants. That side of our squad has definitely improved this season. I want to play as much football as I can this season, I got a good pre-season under my belt and I came through unscathed. I am raring to go.’
