Rangers defender Lee Wallace has spoken of his delight at winning the first medal of his career.

The former Hearts player also said he was proud of the role he has played this season as vice captain and said that the title win could be a springboard to success. He said: “Hopefully we can go on and bring more success to the club. I`ve said on a number of occasions this season that we`re on a path of recovery going back to where we belong. What we`ve achieved this season is massive. It`s brilliant and it`s a big thing for us as we look to move forward.’

Wallace stayed loyal to the club last season and chose to stay when so many others deserted the club. He feels vindicated at his decision to stay, and can’t wait to help Rangers get back to the top whatever league the are playing in next season.
