Striker Martyn Waghorn yesterday completed a permanent transfer from Rangers to Ipswich Town.

He leaves for Ipswich for an undisclosed fee and has signed a new two year deal at Portman Road – the deal has gone through in time for him to potentially debut for them in their clash against Luton Town in the Carabao Cup later this evening.

Having joined us from Wigan Athletic back in the summer of 2015, he made his debut and scored his first goals in the six two victory over Hibernian in the Challenge Cup.

He leaves having made 63 starting appearances with a further 15 showings from the bench, returning 44 goals for the club.

He finished both seasons with us as top scorer, being named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year for 2015/16 and taking our Players’ Player of the Year award that season.
