The Scottish Cup season continued with the quarter-finals played over the weekend.

Rangers, Hibernian, Celtic and Aberdeen recorded victories in the quarters to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Here’s a round up of the action from the other games.

Saturday 4th March – SCOTTISH CUP – QUARTER-FINAL
Rangers 6-0 Hamilton Academical 12:30
Hibernian 3-1 Ayr United 15:00

Sunday 5th March 2017 – SCOTTISH CUP – QUARTER-FINAL
Celtic 4-1 St Mirren 12:30
Aberdeen 1-0 Partick Thistle 15:00

Rangers ran riot in the second half – Martyn Waghorn’s debated first half penalty opened the scoring – with five goals – Joe Garner’s hat trick, Jon Toral and Clint Hill scoring – securing a semi-final place after a 6-0 win over Premiership rivals Hamilton Academical on Saturday lunchtime.

Holders Hibernian – having beaten Rangers in the final last May – remain on track to defend their trophy after Hibs recorded a 3-1 win over Championship rivals Ayr United at Easter Road.

Celtic hit back from the surprise of falling a goal behind against Championship side St Mirren to eventually go through with four un-replied goals in a 4-1 victory at Celtic Park on Sunday lunchtime to book a place in the semi-finals.

A goal at the end of the first half was enough to put Aberdeen into the last four with a 1-0 win over Premiership rivals Partick – Thistle ended with 10 men when having a man sent off in added time.
