The three points against Rangers in midweek was followed up by another win for Hearts on Saturday. A 3-0 victory at Motherwell kept the Jambos’ hopes of making the top 3 on track with Well just three points off a second bottom.

Aberdeen’s fifth win in six games was secured when they won 2-0 against Partick Thistle at Pittodrie. This took the Dons up to 2nd above Rangers after they could only draw.

Having won for the first time in 10 in the last Premiership game Hamilton’s 1-1 with Kilmarnock kept them three points clear of bottom of the league Inverness.

A second draw from the last three for Inverness – Caley haven’t won in 10 – kept alive hopes of avoiding relegation following this 2-2 draw with Dundee who remain five points above the bottom side.

The dropped points from Rangers saw them drop below Aberdeen into 3rd. A home win would have been expected but had it not been for a late equaliser in this 1-1 draw against Ross County at Ibrox the visitors would have won.
