Aberdeen made sure Celtic didn’t claim the title, well not on Friday anyway. The Dons consolidated second place with a thumping 7-0 win at Dundee with a defender Andrew Considine bagging a hat trick.

Hamilton moved off the bottom of the Premiership after Academicals last minute goal secured a 1-0 win over nine man St Johnstone – the visitors played the second period with just nine men having seen two players sent off in first half added time.

A third success Inverness draw meant they dropped to the foot of the table following Hamilton’s dramatic win. Caley battled back from a goal down but a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock means they’re three points from safety.

Partick came from behind to beat Ross County 2-1. This victory for Thistle – a third in a five game unbeaten run – strengthened the bid to finish six, at least.

A second half equaliser saw Rangers salvage a 1-1 draw with struggling Motherwell. However, these dropped points mean the gap to Aberdeen now stands at 10 points with the Dons near certain to finish as runners up to Celtic.

Celtic’s delay in winning the title was only a minimal one as an emphatic 5-0 win at Tynecastle against Hearts sealed a sixth straight Premiership title.
