The Scottish Premiership season continued with the latest round of games played during midweek.

Celtic extended their lead – the win over Inverness saw them back to the foot of the table – after Aberdeen lost. Rangers’ win saw them close the gap on the Dons and extend that on Hearts and St Johnstone.

Here’s a round up of the Scottish Premiership action from the other games.

Hamilton’s surprise 1-0 win over Aberdeen on Tuesday saw them move off the foot of the Premiership. It also saw the Dons miss the chance to strengthen their grip on 2nd place.

Dundee and Partick switched places with Thistle’s 1-0 win at Dens Park seeing them up to 6th.

A second successive defeat – as the winless was extended to three – saw Hearts slip to a Tynecastle defeat against Ross. This 1-0 win for County was a first in six to ease their relegation concerns slightly.

Having beaten Rangers in their previous game Inverness slumped to a 4-0 defeat against runaway leaders Celtic. Not only did this see the Bhoys open up a 27 point lead it meant Caley returned to the foot of the Premiership.

Rangers secured a first win in five after a dramatic finale in five goal thriller against St Johnstone. Having been two up the Saints got back on level terms with goals either side of sending off. The Rangers winner came in added time to secure a 3-2 victory at Ibrox.
