Inverness are closer to relegation to the Championship as Motherwell slipped into the relegation play-off position.

A record win at Ibrox saw Celtic thrash Rangers to further extend the lead over Aberdeen, second, who lost in the visit of St Johnstone.

Here’s a round-up of the Scottish Premiership action from the other games.

Ross County pushed Inverness closer to relegation in a 4-0 thrashing of their visitors on Friday. Caledonian Thistle are now seven points from safety at the foot of the Premiership table with only four to play.

Rangers were once again put to the sword by Celtic as the champions left Ibrox having inflicted a humiliating 5-1 defeat on their Old Firm rivals.

Aberdeen were beaten by St Johnstone’s late goals. The Saints’ 2-0 win at Pittodrie has opened up a six point advantage on Hearts, sixth, and closed the gap on Rangers, third, to six also so a third-placed finish could be on?

Hamilton’s first defeat in five saw them drop to 10th, only goal difference above the relegation play-off position. Kilmarnock, seventh, on the other hand are now clear from the threat of automatic relegation and now hold a six point advantage over second-bottom Motherwell.

Despite twice coming back from behind Hearts’ 2-2 draw with Partick saw the Jambos’ fading chances of catching fourth-placed St Johnstone fade. Thistle, sixth, have lost just once in the last 10 and remain a place and four points behind the Edinburgh side.

Motherwell are now second-bottom after a 3-2 defeat in the visit of Dundee, who leapfrogged Well and Hamilton to climb up to ninth.
