The Scottish Premiership season continued with the latest round of games played over the weekend.

Celtic were denied another win by a late Rangers equaliser. However, Aberdeen’s victory took them closer to finishing as runners up again. Inverness remain bottom of the league.

Here’s a round up of the Scottish Premiership action from the other games.

Sunday 12th March 2017 – SCOTTISH PREMIERSHIP
Celtic 1-1 Rangers 12:00

A positive Aberdeen response to a defeat last time round came when a 1-0 win over Motherwell – who remain just a place above the relegation play-off position – took the Dons nine points clear of Rangers with a win on Saturday. However, Celtic remained a massive 24 points clear at the top.

Hearts’ first win in four – after a draw and successive defeat prior – came in emphatic fashion when second bottom Hamilton were thrashed 4-0.

The points were shared between Partick – as Thistle missed a chance to consolidate sixth place with a fourth straight win – and bottom of the league Inverness after a 1-1 draw. As the away side Caley would have been happier with a point but remain four points from safety.

Ross County’s third defeat in four – and seventh in the last 10 games – was suffered when visiting Kilmarnock left with the points. Killie’s 2-1 victory took them up to seventh and just a couple of points off midtable.

Successive St Johnstone defeats – in fact three of the previous four had been lost – were put behind them with a 2-0 win over Dundee – who have now lost back-to-back games – to keep in contact with Hearts in fourth.

Celtic were within a few minutes of beating Rangers for a fourth time this season. A late equaliser secured the Gers a point at Celtic Park in this 1-1 draw as the Bhoys dropped points for only the second time this term.
