Rangers’ Scottish Championship season continued with a latest win at the Dumbarton Football Stadium against Dumbarton on Saturday.

It took a while for the breakthrough to come, but Waghorn followed up his second half opener with a second, his 11th of the season already, to put Rangers in control with a late Fleming goal a consolation for Dumbarton as the Gers made it 11/11 and maintained the 100% record under Warburton.

Dumbarton started well, with Gibson causing problems. The winger went close with a freekick before crossing into Fleming who beat Rangers ‘keeper Foderingham with a header but this hit the inside of the post!

A goalless first half, which saw the home side have the better of the chance, almost ended with Rangers ahead but Tavernier’s effort was turned over by Dumbarton ‘keeper Brown in the last minute of the first half.

Tavernier was denied, what has almost become a customary goal, when his freekick then hit the post with Rangers denied by the woodwork.

Frustrated by Dumbarton, the Sons’ gameplan was working, but Waghorn (64) finally broke the deadlock just past the hour mark when he fired past Brown from 20-yards.

A Buchanan foul on Miller, when the striker was going through on goal, not only saw the Dumbarton man see red it also brought Rangers a penalty. Waghorn (73) made no mistake from the spot to double the Gers lead.

Wilson conceded a late penalty when bringing down Wright but Fleming’s (90) late penalty, which Foderingham got a hand too but couldn’t keep out, only denied Rangers a cleansheet with the defeat perhaps harsh on the Sons?
