We’re expecting Steven Davis to have a big impact at Rangers this season, and it seems as though Steven Gerrard is expecting the same thing. The Rangers boss has been speaking about the midfielder following his move from Southampton, and the 34-year-old seems to be ticking all the boxes for our manager.

Discussing what he’ll add to the team, Gerrard said: “He [Steven Davis] brings energy, he brings responsibility as a player who will always have the ball in any situation, he can handle the crowds, he’s done it before and he brings vital experience and quality”.
Davis is already a popular man with the boss, and it’s easy to see why. It’s not just what he brings off the field, it’s what Davis can do off of it too. With so much experience behind him, he’ll be able to have a really big impact on the rest of the team.
That’s particularly crucial as we head into a title race. Hopefully, he’ll add a calming atmosphere to the dressing room.
Make no mistake, though, he’s going to come in and become one of the best midfielders in Scotland, and so it’s an upgrade in every sense of the word for us.
