Rangers drew 1-1 with St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday.

The unbeaten run was extended to five games but Rangers had to be content with a point against St Johnstone at Ibrox – this meant the gap between the Gers and Celtic was extended to 16 points ahead of the end of year showdown.

Aberdeen’s win before we played also meant they closed the gap on Rangers to five points, which could become two should the Dons win a third straight game before we play host to Celtic on New Years Eve.

Having dominated the early part of the game – with Kenny Miller going close and James Tavernier hitting the crossbar – Rangers went ahead midway through the first half when Barrie McKay finally scored.

St Johnstone were level before the half hour mark though when Rob Kiernan saw his back pass to keeper Wes Foderingham fall short allowing Steven MacLean getting in to equalise and end the winning momentum Rangers had built up.
