Rangers suffered defeat in our opening pre season friendly on our tour of North America when Ventura County Fusion came out as three one winners.

Our Californian opposition turned out to be extremely tough to breakdown despite our best efforts, and ultimately you can’t say they weren’t value for the victory as they were sharper and far more clinical than we were over the course of 90 minutes.

The home side took a deserved two nil lead before defender Bilel Mohsni got us back in the game with nine minutes remaining on the clock, but instead of us going on to get the second and restore level terms, they got the third to put the game beyond us.

following on from our last showing in pre season, the fact the performance wasn’t there again is going to be of more concern to fans and manager Ally McCoist alike than the result, but obviously there are a few weeks left yet for us to click and start getting things right ahead of the Championship kick off.

Having set us up as 541 McCoist would definitely have been disappointed to see us concede so easily in the game as we should’ve dominated the attack really, but it should be said Fusion are in good form and are currently top of the Southwest Division following eight wins and three defeats from the 14 games so far, and their form and fitness definitely told.
