Big European nights at Ibrox are synoymous with certain things.

Usually a capacity crowd, a raucous atmosphere and a large-scale display at the Broomloan end from the Union Bears.

A few weeks ago however, the Europa League opener against Lyon barely featured any of the above.

It was a strange, low key build up to that fixture and the feeling continued in and around the stadium, right through the game.

In the end, the product on and off the pitch was lukewarm with the visitors claiming a 0-2 victory.

Now there is a matter of urgency in terms of this Europa League campaign with points still to be put on the board so expect the heat to be turned up in the stands.

Yes, a proper, more full-on atmosphere should be anticipated and that will be heightened by a pre-match display by UB, the Rangers ultras group based in section BF1.

In recent years, all of the big Euro nights have been underpinned by such a display and here’s hoping that tonight can be another one.

Three points on the pitch is crucial for the Scottish champions in order to make a late charge for second place in the group.

The supporters will make their presence felt and it is up to the players to rise to the occasion and prolong that atmosphere.

The mission is clear – Let’s go!
