Unbeaten Run Continues For Rangers As Kilmarnock Are Swept Aside

Earlier today Rangers took to the Rugby Park pitch as we faced Kilmarnock in the Scottish League Cup.

A comfortable 3-1 victory played itself out as we booked our place in the next round of the competition and Alfredo Morelos again made the headlines as he helped himself to a hat-trick across the 90 minutes.

The only disappointing moment was Borna Barisic’s own goal in the second half, but we already had the game under control and it didn’t faze us.

Steven Gerrard’s unbeaten run continues and we take our eighth win in nine competitive matches under his charge, but Jamie Murphy is now a doubt for Thursday Europa League clash with FC Ufa after falling awkwardly on the artificial pitch and being stretchered off 15 minutes into the game.

Hopefully, it looked worse than it was and the stretcher was just precautionary, but I imagine we’ll soon know.

With Bordeaux being rebuffed in a bid for Morelos and Gerrard saying any offer would have to ‘blow Rangers out of the water’ his performance on the day will no doubt increase the speculation further.
