Steven Gerrard’s Rangers bounced back from Sunday’s damaging derby defeat with a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Hearts at Ibrox this evening.
A first half double from Jermain Defoe and Connor Goldson sent the Gers on their way to victory, with Scott Arfield rounding off the scoring just half the interval.
The victory ensures we haven’t let Kilmarnock or Aberdeen gain any ground on us in the Scottish Premiership table, with both clubs picking up points this evening.
Gerrard was forced into a number of changes for the fixture with Andy Halliday and Alfredo Morelos both suspended.
Jon Flanagan played his first match since the Scottish Cup win over Cowdenbeath, starting at left-back, and unexpectedly impressed supporters with his contribution.
His pace and tackling were noted highlights of the team performance, with some even pointing out he’s a better option than Borna Barisic or Halliday.

Jon Flanagan with a proper tackle there. Had forgotten what one of those looked like, well against anyone other than a Rangers player of course.

One of the best half's I've watched this season. Every player unreal. Defoes all round play. Middle 3 and Flanagan credit where its due
