Earlier this window, we saw Rangers let midfielder Ross McCrorie leave the club on loan to sign for Portsmouth in England’s League One.
A holding player, some of us were perhaps shocked to see him leave given the ability he has already shown that he possesses.
Anyway, he is going to play for Portsmouth this coming season and we all hope he does well, but it does look as though the Gers have the chance to cut his stay at Fratton Park short.
Indeed, Pompey manager Kenny Jackett revealed to the Portsmouth News that the deal involving the midfielder has a recall option incorporated:
‘There is an option to recall him in January.”
This is a wise move from the Gers.
He’s a player that impressed last season in big games and if he is excelling at Portsmouth it makes sense to bring him back early if we can.
Of course, we have players that will want to show we don’t need him back but it makes sense to be able to get him back and, indeed, that goes for if he doesn’t play at Portsmouth much.
