How quickly things can change in football. Young Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has almost been the perfect hero so far in the season of 2018/19 under manager Steven Gerrard.
37' RED: Alfredo Morelos is sent off as he picks up two yellow cards after an incident in the middle of the park.

Proving his goal threat and increasing his consistency in front of the net as he’s played his part in helping us to eleven unbeaten ahead of today, contributing six goals in ten appearances – many were willing to forgive the stupid kick out against Aberdeen that saw him shown a straight red card and arguably cost us an extra two points.
That card was rescinded but he’s not going to be that lucky this time after his antics in the 36th minute of the Europa League Play-Off tie against FC Ufa out in Russia because you cannot appeal yellow cards.
He childishly picked up one for booting the ball away and then seconds later he must have told the referee what he thought of him – that’s called dissent – so off he went for an early shower.
Rangers held on to draw the game and go through on aggregate but it could’ve so easily gone the other way and cost the club millions in the process.

Yes totally agree, time for him to go

Double dissent in 30 seconds in our biggest game of the season so far, not good enough
— stewarty72 (@Stewartygf2) August 30, 2018
Total liability
— scott jamieson (@sjamieson1987) August 30, 2018
Get him out the club..the guy is a liability who will never learn..all he does is throws his weight about and that's about it. We're dealing with a child here

I have no more words for his attitude. Did he score three goals? Yeah but he still has that shitty habit of making idiot fouls. If in the old firm he ll play we ll be ten men in 2 minutes. They ll provoke him

He needs to learn…drop him for the old firm, Lafferty in instead

How many times will he let his team down. His behaviour is a disgrace

You kick the ball away, you get booked.
You show dissent to the ref, you get booked.
Every footballer knows this
Morelos has let us down again with his childish antics— Gary H (@instrospark) August 30, 2018
Hero to Zero in 37'. No doubt he's been warned about his behaviour after aberdeen, but not paying any attention. A liability for the season ahead and can't be relied on. Biggest game of the season so far and he's fucked it. ????????
— Northern Seafox (@Northern_Seafox) August 30, 2018
That has got to be the two most needless yellow cards a footballer will ever receive in the space of 20 seconds. What an absolute bell ????????
— Rajo (@Mehta01Raj) August 30, 2018
Almost like every game I’m waiting for flashpoint involving Morelos. You know it’s coming, you just pray the ref calls it in our favour. Twice now this season he has given officials decisions to make & twice the games have resulted in draws. Could easily have cost club £5M today
— Bear from the North (@Northernger) August 30, 2018
He weren’t gonna get a yellow for the tackle…… boots it away, gets a yellow…. doesn’t listen to the ref, gets another yellow. So from giving away a silly free kick to getting sent off in the space of 10 seconds

As you can tell from the above tweets from social media, fans aren’t happy and his antics have stirred up some old concerns about his future at the club and whilst there is an element of overreaction and fans being in the moment – would anyone risk him in the Old Firm?
Prove yourself to be a player who can’t keep his inner child in check, you’re inviting the opposition to rile you up and let your teammates down.
