How quickly things can change in football. Young Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has almost been the perfect hero so far in the season of 2018/19 under manager Steven Gerrard.

Proving his goal threat and increasing his consistency in front of the net as he’s played his part in helping us to eleven unbeaten ahead of today, contributing six goals in ten appearances – many were willing to forgive the stupid kick out against Aberdeen that saw him shown a straight red card and arguably cost us an extra two points.

That card was rescinded but he’s not going to be that lucky this time after his antics in the 36th minute of the Europa League Play-Off tie against FC Ufa out in Russia because you cannot appeal yellow cards.

He childishly picked up one for booting the ball away and then seconds later he must have told the referee what he thought of him – that’s called dissent – so off he went for an early shower.

Rangers held on to draw the game and go through on aggregate but it could’ve so easily gone the other way and cost the club millions in the process.

As you can tell from the above tweets from social media, fans aren’t happy and his antics have stirred up some old concerns about his future at the club and whilst there is an element of overreaction and fans being in the moment – would anyone risk him in the Old Firm?

Prove yourself to be a player who can’t keep his inner child in check, you’re inviting the opposition to rile you up and let your teammates down.
