Academy graduate Glenn Middleton is enjoying a standout breakthrough season at the club under Rangers manager Steven Gerrard.
The 18-year-old midfielder made his debut in the Europa League in our 2-0 victory over FC Shkupi back in early July and although he’s waiting for his full senior debut at the club, he has gone on to rack up eight substitute appearances, with a return of one goal.
Having come in for praise for his showings so far in the season of 2018/19, his most recent performance against Villarreal also drew the plaudits.
Having headed to Spain for our first Group stage adventure in the competition for a number of years, Middleton entered play with 20 minutes remaining in the game and more than played his part in helping us to a point on the day and a 2-2 draw.
Having fought back from a goal behind once in the match, Middleton was involved in our second fightback of the day as Kyle Lafferty levelled matters up.
What a player Middleton is by the way.

The point was obviously massive in the grand scheme of things, and as can be seen above, fans were more than willing to ensure Middleton got his moment in the spotlight as he continues his own development.
