At this time of the season, every pundit under the sun is asked for their opinion on what their former club needs, and Rangers are no different.

Alan Hutton reckons that we need another forward with uncertainty over Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe as well as another centre-half, however, speaking on Sky Sports, via The Glasgow Times, Kenny Miller is in full agreement with his former team-mate:

“There’s a lot of reports surrounding Alfredo Morelos, obviously.

“Ryan Kent is even getting linked with a move. Glen Kamara has been subject of a bit of interest over the last few weeks as well.

“If everybody was to stay, I still think the Champions League gives you the ability to go and strengthen the squad and give it a healthier look to fire on four fronts.

“For me, a striker potentially, depending on Alfredo and Kemar Roofe’s fitness. Even a centre-back needs to maybe be looked at.

“James Sands has done well over the last few looks and he’s played his part in getting the team through to the Champions League in the early stage of the season.

“I think Connor Goldson moving forward needs a more stable partner, someone who that is their position.

“I know James Sands can play right-back, centre-mid and he does play centre-back for his national team, but maybe another centre-back.”

The squad is in decent shape so there isn’t any real panic about getting last-minute deals done, however, Hutton and Miller are both right about needing backup in the forward department, especially if Fashion Sakala isn’t going to be trusted.

I also think Miller is bang on about if there are any departures, we have a couple of key players whose deals expire at the end of this season. There have been clubs rumoured to be interested in players who could bring in big fees, although we are at the stage where I don’t think we would be selling without having replacements lined up.

The only area I disagree with is at centre-half, we have the numbers, we’re just going through a mini-crisis with the players that are missing, this will get better soon without the need for further additions.

Either way, it’s going to be an exciting few final days of the window.
