Spent last season on loan to Rangers from Manchester City and became a cult hero, but how is he getting on now?

Vladimir Weiss, he loves Rangers, and Rangers loves him, of that there is no doubt. He only spent one season on loan at Ibrox but he fell in love with the club.

The Slovakian is only 22 years old but already he has won 23 caps for his country and scored 1 goal. He is a third generation footballer, his grandfather and father (all have the same names) before him also played for their country.

Weiss started off his youth career with Inter Bratislava but then signed a youth contract with Manchester City in 2006. He has only played 1 league game for Manchester City.

As well as a loan spell with Rangers last season, Weiss also had a loan spell with Bolton Wanderers where he played 13 league games. He played 23 league games for Rangers scoring 5 goals but suffered with injury towards the end of the season. That didn’t stop him sitting amongst the fans and celebrating our SPL title victory.

This season he is on loan again, this time with Spanish team Espanyol in Barcelona. So far he has played 9 games but not scored any goals.
