Rangers’ tie with Kilmarnock didn’t go our way on Wednesday night, and that’s a big blow. It’s our second disappointing result in less than a week, and it’s taken away the shine from what has been a good start to the season from Steven Gerrard.
However, there was, at least, something to celebrate yesterday. Our club captain, James Tavernier, celebrated his birthday.
He didn’t get the birthday gift that he was likely looking for in the form of a big win for the ‘Gers, but still, the defender has clearly been touched by the support shown by fans on his birthday.
Despite the loss, our captain put in a solid performance, and he earned praise from Steven Gerrard for that. That’s classic Tav, and we’re hoping that it continues for a while yet.
He’s been a regular this season, and he’s done well.
Hopefully his delayed present will come at the weekend. We desperately need a win.
