According to the Daily Record, St Mirren are aiming to bring in Lee Hodson from Rangers during this summer once his contract has expired in the coming weeks.

Hodson is a decent player but he is not good enough to play at the level we want to get at and it is no surprise to see St. Mirren being keen on trying to get him on a permanent contract.

Certainly, you get the feeling he’s not going to be against leaving for them and the Gers are probably more than happy to let him leave the club for nothing in the window.

He played 19 times in the league this season and the Buddies will be hoping that he can increase that number considerably if he is on a full-time deal there.

Whether Rangers are desperate to find a replacement in the squad, meanwhile, also remains to be seen – though you get the feeling there isn’t an urgent need right now.
