Right back James Tavernier has said that in his opinion Rangers just need to find consistency in their form and regularly play their best football, and then we don’t have to worry about necessarily winning games, because he’s confident that will naturally follow.

With some disappointing performances and results so far this campaign following promotion back to the Premiership, the most recent of course was the draw against Ross County ahead of the international break, but speaking to the Official Site in his own pre game press conference ahead of Dundee, the 25 year old said that he felt the side had shown plenty of glimpses of what they are capable of, now we just need to do it on a more regular basis.

As for the games coming up against the likes of Hearts, Aberdeen, Inverness and Celtic still to come in 2016, he also felt this was the best possible time to find that consistency as well.

‘It`s a hard month coming up but the boys are relishing it and we`re going to try and put as many points on the board as we can. We have almost been disappointed with how we`ve started the season and we haven`t done as well as we could do and we have dropped points when we shouldn`t have. We have shown glimpses of how well we can play football so if we carry on doing that then the points will come in and we will do better than we`ve started off. We are getting there and the boys have all gelled in, it is good at the minute and we just have to keep that going.’

Tavernier went on to say.

‘We want to be playing the best we can and if we can play the best football we can then we are going to win the majority of the games. I do see signs that we are getting to the best we can be and hopefully we can show that this weekend, I think the best is only to come. We are always determined to get three points and to come away with a draw before the break was hard on the lads and the fans. We have to put things right this weekend. In a normal week you can rectify it the following week but having a two week break is hard to swallow, the thing now is to concentrate on Dundee. You want to keep that momentum going and keep playing well with the games coming week in and week out.’

Ending his interviews, the player did admit that the international break had come at the wrong time as the players wanted to get back on the pitch and get Ross frustration out of the system, but in hindsight maybe it will do us good allowing for some reflection.

He’s certainly feeling the benefits of it now, feeling more refreshed.

‘We had a good few days off, it recharged the batteries; I went to see family and really enjoyed my time off. Anytime you get off, three or four days for example, is always great to the body and great to the mind, it sets you up for the games coming up. It`s nice when the games keep rolling but the legs have been well rested now and I`m all ready for the weekend now.’
