Rangers captain James Tavernier spoke out yesterday on racial abuse with a simple but stern message – enough is enough.

The skipper talked to Sky Sports at Parkhead to have his say and to add weight to the demands for change.

Tavernier hit out at social media platforms who are effectively enabling much of the abuse to take place without any recourse to the perpetrators.

He also revealed that more Rangers players have been targeted.

“I am confident to say that all our black players have received racial abuse this season and that is from the social media plattforms.”

“A key message to them is that action needs to be taken and enough is enough.”

The full extent of his comments can be viewed above.

Following the ugly incident on Thursday evening, Rangers players, staff and fans have rallied round to support Glen Kamara, as well as Kemar Roofe.

Tavernier paid tribute to his teammate Kamara, in particular, given that it was he who was at the centre of the incident with Slavia Prague’s Ondrej Kudela, having been singled out for no reason by the Czech player.

Messages of support and solidarity have continued to flood in – with Celtic captain Scott Brown making a point of seeking out Kamara for a handshake, during the warm-ups yesterday.

Now all at Rangers wait for the response from UEFA.
