More Tartan Army shame as Barisic targeted with the ‘boos’

|

How predictably sad and depressing.

Rangers’ Borna Barisic made his EURO2020 bow tonight in the familiar surroundings of Hampden Park on the 70 minute mark but he was singled out by a section of the Scotland supporters, in a way that no other Croatians had, earlier in the game.

Yes, unfortunately the ugly reality of anti-Rangers/anti-Unionist sentiment reared its head once again.

It is just another reflection of a divided Scotland and the agenda of those in power at Holyrood.

Over the last few weeks, we have seen how Rangers fans were described and the commentary that followed from the mainstream press and government over several days.

Compare and contrast to the situation with a mass exodus of Scotland fans to London, last weekend, as well as the many similar scenes that unfolded.

Back to Hampden tonight, make no mistake about it.

Barisic was singled out because he is a Rangers player and what the club and the fans represent – it appears that this is simply too much for certain Scotland fans, even with plenty of Gers fans following the national team and Ibrox players in the squad.
