Rangers legend Ally McCoist has turned down Alex McLeish’s offer of becoming strikers coach at Ibrox. It is understood that Ally really wanted to do it but was tied to contract obligations with ITV for tv work.

Ally McCoist has recently became part of the Scottish International set up, working along side ex Rangers gaffer Walter Smith and Alex McLeish has been impressed with his work there with Scotland strikers Garry O’Connor, Kenny Miller and others.

Alex McLeish has already employed Rangers legend and Ally’s best pal Ian Durrant as a coach at Ibrox and is clearly keen on getting the two back together to lift spirits around Ibrox.
