With a mention of ‘Null and Void’, Rangers legend Ally McCoist was having none of it.

On the BT Sport Scottish Football Extra show on Friday, host Darrell Currie put it to Super Ally if his was ready to proclaim Rangers as champions.

“Never. Not until it is mathematically impossible.” was McCoist’s firm response.

Chris Sutton then chipped in, “Not with ‘null and void’ on the table now”.

What followed next was a hilarious good natured put down by Rangers greatest ever goalscorer, directed at former Celtic striker Sutton.

He responded, “Ohhh. I can almost feel the desperation coming through my screen. The anxiety, the tears. Give that man a cuddle immediately!” prompting a lot of laughs.

Super Ally was very generous in his praise for the Gers performance against Aberdeen last week as he felt that the performance level had been lifted compared to recent weeks, especially from Alfredo Morelos.

“Being at the game, Rangers certainly played more like the team that we saw earlier on in the season. The results have been first class but I just felt that the performance levels had slightly dipped which is only a minor criticism, just an observation. Key to the improvement was the perfromance of Alfredo Morelos. He had a chance in the first minute and then his two finishes were excellent, particularly the first goal. I did mention it, that it would be a real concern for everybody if Morelos starts firing on all cylinders. It’s early but on last weeks performance he looked like his old self and so did Rangers.”

As the weeks go on and the points roll in, McCoist is only going to get louder and more excitable.

We can’t wait for it!
