Rangers’ second string had a 45-minute senior feel to it yesterday as we hosted Motherwell at the training ground.
Playing out a 6-2 victory, Umar Sadiq joined Lee Wallace, Eros Grezda and Jordan Rossiter in getting a half under their belts as they built fitness, but despite the goal rout of our opposition, the 21-year-old didn’t get on the scoresheet and with only three senior substitute appearances to his name so far, fans are now wondering if we made a mistake bringing the Roma man in on loan – or whether he really does just need more time to make the adjustment.
Good to see Rossiter back. Would have thought Wallace and Sadiq would have been in the picture for Wednesday against Ayr. ????

I think big Sadiq should get a start on Wednesday to give the big man a confidence boost, saw him at Ibrox today and he looked like a lost soul. Stick the big man on against Ayr and if he doesn’t bang 2 in cut him loose but give the man a shot at least

Kyle Lafferty is clearly ahead of him in the pecking order and nobody assumed that would be the case when he first arrived over the summer transfer window, but different players can adjust to a change of country quicker than others and it might just be that manager Steven Gerrard is playing it safe with him.
At reserve level though fans will be looking for him to begin making a proper impact in the future.
