Steven Gerrard’s always had a strong rapport with the Rangers fans since he arrived at Ibrox. He’s a passionate man, and he has always recognised that the Ibrox faithful are built the same way.
There’s nothing we all want more than to see our side do well, and we’re particularly hopeful of a good performance on Thursday in the Europa League.
Ahead of the game, around 10,000 loyal Gers are said to making the trip to Austria, and Steven Gerrard has revealed that he’s not surprised about the numbers.
As per the official Rangers Twitter, he said: “We hope the fans remain safe and enjoy the occasion, and it is no surprise they have come over in these numbers – they love the club”.
Once again, this just shows how aware Gerrard is. He knows that the Rangers fans are passionate, and so having more fans travel across Europe than some teams have in their home grounds is no real surprise to him.
One thing is for sure, and that’s that those in Austria will be doing their bit to get a good performance out of the players, but it’s important that we get the Rangers that we saw in November, rather than the one that has struggled over the last couple of weeks.
On our day we can beat anyone, and every one of those 10,o00 rangers fans will be hoping that Thursday is our day.
