Overall, I think Steven Gerrard has done a good job at the club and I expect him to deliver success for however long he stays.
I do think, though, that he needs to address certain things and the way that he has gone about using some of our young players is definitely requiring work.
Few have had the chance to shine with many shipped out and when you look at some of those in their place I fail to see why they’re better.
Wouldn’t Ryan Hardie be a better option than Umar Sadiq? Surely, Greg Doherty is someone we should be developing over Ovie Ejaria?
Of course, hindsight is a wonderful thing and so if Gerrard can learn from this it’ll be a positive but I do think we need to look after our own young players a little better because they would have a chance to play and improve right now.
