At the Rangers press conference today ahead of the game away to Motherwell on Sunday, Steven Gerrard spoke in plain terms regarding his planned business for this month’s transfer window.

As can be viewed from the official club YouTube account, the Gers gaffer was asked if, other than Scott Wright, would he be confident of getting any other business done.

He responded, “Look, you never say never in these situations.”

“I don’t forsee any more additions but I do know that there is quite a bit of interest around some of our players.”

“It will depend who goes out the door in terms of what we do on incoming players”

“If we could get Scott Wright in the door that would be a major boost and something that we would welcome but I don’t think we need to make major additions with where we are at right now.”

“I do predict that there will be movement in the coming weeks because the phone is starting to warm up in terms of interest in our own players.”

Gerrard continued, “I can’t give you any names or details of things that are going on privately but there is definitely action in the background.”

It is only a matter of time now before the door at Ibrox will be revolving. It is known that a deal for Scott Wright is close but there could be one or two more, in addition.

That will be dependent on the futures of the likes of Greg Stewart, Jordan Jones, Brandon Barker and Greg Middleton.
