Rangers fans aren’t especially keen to see Charlie Adam return to Ibrox this summer, after he admitted that it could be an option for him if he ends up leaving Stoke City.

Speaking to BT Sport ahead of the first leg of the UEFA Europa League tie against FK Shkupi, Adam said that returning to Glasgow to player with the Gers is always a ‘wonderful option’.

Stoke City were relegated from the English Premier League last season and with Adam only playing 11 times in league action last term, his future at the club is in doubt.

Adam struggled to make a big first team impression at Ibrox in his first spell at the club, eventually leaving for Blackpool in 2009 before winning a big move to Liverpool after a successful couple of seasons at the Seasiders.

Still, with a bit more midfield depth needed, he could add experience and quality to the middle of the park for Steven Gerrard’s side.

His return is splitting opinion though, with 45% of respondents to a poll we published at the weekend not ready to welcome him back to Ibrox.
