Rangers supporters are a little concerned about the discipline of Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos after he was sent off against Russian side FC Ufa on Thursday.

The 22-year-old appeared to be shown the red card for dissent after kicking the ball away upon conceding a free-kick.

There’s an argument it was incredibly harsh from the referee but Morelos keeps getting himself caught up in these incidents for stupid reasons.

It’s not the first time he’s let his teammates down by allowing himself to get frustrated and see the red mist, so to speak.

Keeping his discipline is particularly important in the context of a massive derby on Sunday. In the cauldron of Celtic Park, losing Morelos for any silly reason would be a huge blow to our chances of getting a result.

If he starts, it’s absolutely imperative that he keeps his head down and gets on with it, regardless of what’s thrown his way.

These fans have taken to Twitter over the last couple of days to share their thoughts on it all.

Do you think Morelos needs to be dropped to learn his lesson about discipline? Share your thoughts in the comments below…

  • I remember the great Colin Stein, had a similar disciplinary fault in his early Gers career, and thankfully he wised, to become one of our best centres ever. I hope a quiet word from his team mates, to explain to Morelos, that the added pressure he heaps on them, every time he foolishly gets his marching orders, is just not on, may make the penny drop. He plays on the edge, and he must learn to control it, or we all are going to loose our patience with him, great player or not.
