James Tavernier missed a penalty last night that could have put the Europa League tie with Progres to bed in all honesty and it largely summed up the evening.

The Gers won 2-0, but it could have been so much more and we will now need to go there and seal things with a performance.

We move on, then, but on the subject of Tav, he continues to attract interest from England and there is a claim one side is ready to launch a bid for him.

Indeed, according to 90min, the defender is wanted by Brighton and they are ready to try and make a play to sign him this summer window.

Brighton, of course, are in the Premier League but other than that what do they actually offer with all due respect?

Trophies won’t be happening for them this season, and European football is nowhere to be seen, so I can’t see why Tav would go.
