“Shouldn’t have left” – Fans react as forward makes Rangers return

Jake Hastie has returned to Rangers for the second half of the season after his loan spell was cut short at Rotherham United and could go straight into tonight’s squad to face Ross County as reported in The Daily Record.

The 21-year-old former Motherwell forward was signed in the summer and will be looking to provide the extra spark that was so desperately missing from the Ibrox side against Hearts at the weekend, after starting with a bang – three goals in his first three games – his time with the Millers fizzled out in recent weeks.

Hastie’s return comes in the face of speculation that Jordan Jones and Brandon Barker both face the end of their respective Rangers careers as Steven Gerrard looks to improve his squad in the last few days of the transfer window.

Gers fans took to Twitter at the announcement on the clubs official feed and hope that the Scotland under-21 international can fire the Light Blues to the Scottish Premiership title.

Hastie was sent out on loan to get some much needed game time but found minutes hard to come by recently, whether or not he goes straight into Steven Gerrard’s squad for the visit of Ross County tonight will be as eagerly anticipated as who will start in the right-back berth.
