‘Should start every week’ – Rangers fans want to see more of one man tonight despite loss

Rangers fans away from home in Europe

Steven Gerrard’s Rangers will now have to focus all their energy on domestic football after being knocked out of the UEFA Europa League this evening.

The Gers went into tonight’s match against Rapid Vienna needing a victory but could only muster a Connor Goldson headed chance against the crossbar before conceding a late goal to lose 1-0.

It was a difficult and frustrating evening, ending Gerrard’s European dreams after making great progress in the competition this season.

There were certainly some positives to take from the match and one of those was the performance of Ross McCrorie, who was making his first start since a Scottish League Cup match back in September.

The 20-year-old was impressive defensively and allowed Ryan Jack to commit himself forward a little more than usual, with the confidence that McCrorie would mop up any danger behind him.

Some fans now want to see him start every week, calling on Gerrard to give him more game time than he’s been getting.
