In this month’s transfer window there is unlikely to be any significant activity at Ibrox in terms of players coming in or out, due to having a very settled squad in place and of course, Rangers are sitting pretty at the summit of the SPFL Premiership with a 19 point lead.

It is possible that there will be some movement in terms of squad players and the futures of the likes of Jordan Jones, Brandon Barker and Greg Stewart will be considered as they reside on the fringes of Steven Gerrard’s team.

The manager may want to bring in a couple of loan reinforcements to his squad to add freshness, in particular to add to his options on the left flank and to provide competition to Ryan Kent.

Could West Brom’s Kamil Grosicki fit the bill?

The Poland international is a frustrated figure at The Hawthorns and was frozen out under previous boss Slaven Bilic. Now with Sam Allardyce in place, Grosicki is expected to depart this month on either a loan or permanent basis, given that his contract is set to expire, five months from now in June.

Ahead of the upcoming Euro 2020, delayed from last year, the player is eager to play his way into contention for a starting berth. Although now 32, Grosicki still possesses pace and a goal threat as was evidenced in November, when he scored a first-half hat-trick in a 5-1 friendly victory against Finland.

He has only featured twice this season for his club, once in the Carabao Cup as a starter as well as a 10 minute cameo in the Baggies 2-1 Premier League loss to Newcastle in December.

Rangers would be getting a hungry, experienced international player who would be aiming to make an immediate impact. Grosicki may be looking for regular starts in his next move, which would not be guaranteed at Ibrox, although he would get an opportunity to feature.

With 80 caps and 17 goals for Poland, Grosicki would be more than capable of making an impact in Scotland.

He has again been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest, as reported by Birmingham Live. This is following a last-minute collapse to a proposed move last Summer which was scuppered as the deal was not completed by the deadline.
