Rangers supporters are calling on Steven Gerrard to start midfielder Ross McCrorie more consistently after he impressed in the starting eleven on Sunday afternoon.
The 20-year-old produced a performance beyond his years to help the Gers to a 3-0 Scottish Premiership win over Livingston, winning balls in the air and breaking up play on the ground.
His composure for a player so young is remarkable and his presence in the team gives us a stability we simply don’t have when he is not playing.
He has started just 11 matches this season, with Gerrard opting for different combinations in the middle of the park for the most part.
However, surely McCrorie’s recent performance means he will now get an extended run of games in the team?
That’s the opinion of many fans who are taking great delight in seeing a homegrown player excel so much. They want Gerrard to put his faith in the young man and allow him to reach his full potential.
Supporters took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
When Ross McCrorie has started domestic games this season, Rangers are unbeaten, winning 7 out of 9, and have conceded just 3 goals in those 9 games.
I get Gerrard's anxieties about putting so much pressure on a young man's shoulders, but he should be a first XI mainstay.

Mcrorrie and Davis all day long. Mcrorrie more athletic, gets forward more, wins ball back more, loves a battle. Jack terrified to make forward run/pass at times it seems.

Gerrard can't afford to have anxieties for players if they don't have anxieties themselves. He looks comfortable playing in big games for Rangers.

McCrorie and Candeias were magnificent today. The kind of "That's MY fucking jersey" spirit that would've got us over the line at Kilmarnock too. The boss has to take some criticism for that but he's still learning and he's been excellent so fair's fair, I'll zip it.

Ross McCrorie is our first choice DM whenever he’s fit imo. The boy is class. #RangersFC ????⚪️????
