Rangers were in the hat for the Scottish Communities League Cup first round for the first time in years and have been drawn against East Fife at home.
Ally McCoist will come up against his old strike partner Gordon Durie who is currently the manager of the second division club. The cup draw was seeded but Rangers were not in the top seeds and therefore got a ‘tougher’ tie.
The tie will be Rangers’ first home game of the season, providing they get granted an SFA membership, but that’s another story…
