He has started as he means to go on – Scott Wright is on the scoresheet already for the new season.

The Aberdonian started the game on the bench but due to an injury to Ianis Hagi in the first half, he got his chance and grabbed it with both hands.

Wright made a telling impact on the game with a classy strike with the outside of his foot and he revealed after the game that numbers in the final third is one of his key objectives for the next step in his Ibrox journey.

He told Rangers official website:

“More goals and assists is something that I’ve wanted to add to my game this season.”

To his credit, Scott Wright is now a serious, credible option as a starter for Steven Gerrard’s side.

He was improved, developed and stregthened since his January move from Pittodrie and after a productive settling in period, he is now pushing on to reach the next level.

If he keeps going, Wright could, in effect, be the next ‘Neil McCann’ – making the move from another Scottish club then raising the bar and transforming his game.

Scott Wright is another exciting, intriguing option – with further serious potential – at Rangers disposal this season.
