Rangers livewire Scott Wright is bursting to make an impression once again and he is set to be unleashed against St Johnstone tonight.

McDiarmid Park in Perth is the stage with a 7pm kick-off tonight.

Rangers will be out for a repeat of their last trip to play the Saints when they secured a convincing 0-3 victory as full momentum was carried over the Christmas period.

Since then, former Aberdeen forward Scott Wright has brought a welcome freshness to the squad and the 23-year old has caught the imagination.

In a telling indication, he faced the press yesterday at the pre-match conference – usually, but not always, a sign of inclusion.

He has stated that he just wants to keep going and keep getting better, amid the competition for places in the Ibrox squad:

“I’ve probably played a bit more than I expected to do, I’m delighted with how it has gone so far and it is about chasing down the next target.”

“I’ve said before that I want to make an impact on the team whether that is coming off the bench or starting.”

“All I can do is give the manager something to think about.”

Chance

To an extent, Wright has achieved that feat early on and in his last outing, against Cove Rangers in the Scottish Cup, he was a strong man of the match contender.

He continued,

“We have a good squad and there are so many games whether it is the Europa League, the Scottish Cup or the league.”

“We will have to utilise the squad and it is on the players who come to grab your chance.”

Seizing the initiative, developing and striving for success is what lies ahead for the talented attacker.

Scott Wright clearly has potential to go further – the question of how much he can improve is one that is exciting Rangers fans.
