Since arriving at Rangers over the summer, Scott Arfield has proven himself to be one of the best midfielders in Scotland. He’s helped to add some class and quality to our team, and with Steven Davis now also available to Steven Gerrard, we’re excited to see what else he’ll be able to do alongside such a good partner.

Despite the good first half of the season, though, Arfield is looking to himself and the rest of the team to up their respective games between now and the end of the season.

As per the official Rangers Twitter, he said: “Everybody maxed out for the Celtic game, and rightly so. Every game should be that big when you play for a club of this size. Every game is huge”.

Clearly, Arfield was impressed with the manner of our win over Celtic, but he’s expecting more.

It must be said, we’ve fallen short in games throughout the season that perhaps we should have been winning, and that needs to change between now and the rest of the season.

That said, we’re still keeping pace with Celtic atop the table even with our somewhat inconsistent form, so if we’re able to add a bit of sustained quality to the team, the second half of the season should even better for us.

Arfield isn’t settling for anything but the best.

Thoughts?
