Ryan Jack struck a piledriver for Rangers when it was most required and from that moment, the destiny of Scottish Cup was never in doubt.
On 81 minutes, Giovanni van Bronckhorst shuffled his midfield by introducing Jack and Glen Kamara, for Steven Davis and Scott Arfield, respectively.
The chance provided fresh legs, a verve, energy and an excellent goal to follow.
That strike came just after the re-start for extra time, with Rangers second from Scott Wright following immediately. When asked post match on his thoughts regarding the quality of his opener, the Scotland international responded:
“Yeah, I couldn’t have dreamt any better to be honest. Coming on and getting us ahead in the game and then Scotty goes and gets a great finish.”
“I’m absolutely proud of the boys, the staff, the backroom staff and everyone who puts in hard work so we’re delighted and it’s for these fans to go and enjoy now.”

Balance
Given how the game went, GvB showed excellent decision making to change his midfield when he did. This was the second time that he turned to his bench with the double sub coming after Wright had been brought on for Amad.
Following the significant and demanding exertions of Wednesday night in Seville, there were valid questions regarding Rangers possible fatigue and mentality going into the Scottish Cup Final. The response was emphatic.
Davis and Arfield were more than able to play their part, leading to the midfield change late in the game having the desired impact, as Rangers blew Hearts away in the process. In terms of fitness and strength, there was only one team left standing at the end.
