Rangers have pulled out of a move for Motherwell winger Jake Hastie, according to The Evening Times.

The paper reckon that a move had actually been agreed last month with the 20-year-old, but the finer details have obviously delayed the pre-contract signing and Rangers are now said to be frustrated with it all.

The youngster could now make a shock move to Major League Soccer and join Atlanta United.

The recruitment team at Ibrox are believed to have moved on to other transfer targets this summer, with Ryan Kent and Greg Stewart both being considered, according to the report.

Hastie certainly appears to be an exciting talent having burst into the Motherwell first-team in January, scoring six goals in the matches in all competitions since.

Rangers though are blessed with plenty of options on the wings and with the pre-contract signing of Jordan Jones we have another international arriving this summer to compete for places.

If Hastie isn’t going to given the football he needs to develop further, would there be any point in bringing him to the club?
