We all know and understand Connor Goldson’s contract situation, the latest being that it looks as though he will put pen to paper on a new deal if Rangers qualify for the Champions League – if that’s what he means by wanting to see the club progress before committing.
If he doesn’t, Rangers have a problem. Leon Balogun and Filip Helander should both be around next season but they don’t share the same skillset as the vice-captain. We would need an organiser, a centre-half comfortable on the ball – step forward Riechedly Bazoer.
Vital Rangers has highlighted the six-times Dutch capped international before and that – like his team-mate Danilho Doekhi – is available on a pre-conract agreement in January, his Vitesse Arnhem contract expiring at the end of the season.
On paper, Bazoer looks class. He has the pedigree, the experience, is available on a cut-price deal and ticks an awful lot of boxes when it comes to being able to replace Goldson, as shown by Patrick Caskie’s analysis.

There is though another side to Bazoer – as told exclusively to Vital Rangers, Marc Lamberts, a Dutch recruitment analyst, who agrees that a move to Ibrox would be fitting of his ability but, there’s a catch.
“Bazoer is playing on a way too low level, but his attitude is a big problem
