‘Ridiculously inept’ – Loads of Rangers fans were left ‘raging’ with one aspect of Thursday draw

Rangers winger Daniel Candeias receives a second yellow card

Rangers fans have been left fuming by the decision to send Daniel Candeias off against Villarreal on Thursday night, with many feeling that it cost Steven Gerrard’s side the chance of picking up all three points.

The Gers had to settle for a 0-0 draw at home to the Spaniards after the Portuguese attacking midfielder was sent off for receiving a second yellow card late on in the first half.

Unfortunately, many fans feel that the referee meant to book either Alfredo Morelos or James Tavernier instead, both of whom appeared to show more intent in challenging the Villarreal player unfairly.

It’s the second time this season that Candeias has been at the centre of sending off controversy, after another incident away to St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership.

A number of refereeing decisions have went against us at home and abroad this season and many supporters are growing sick of it.
