Rangers will find out who their potential UEFA Europa League play-off opponents are on Monday, before the first leg of the upcoming 3rd qualifying round tie against Maribor.

Progression past NK Osijek at Ibrox on Thursday night, along with the other results in the competition, mean the path to the group stages now looks a little clearer.

Thanks to Maribor’s club co-efficient, Rangers’ tie is in fact seeded, meaning Steven Gerrard’s side are in the stronger half of Monday’s draw, avoiding sides like Sevilla, FC Zenit and Basel.

However, there are still plenty of dangers in the unseeded path from many of Europe’s top leagues, should the Gers take care of the Slovenians over two legs.

The full list of potential opponents is as follows:

Slovan Bratislava (Slovakia) or Rapid Wien (Austria)

Nordsjaelland (Norway) or Partizan (Serbia)

RB Leipzig (Germany) or U Craiova (Romania)

Istanbul Basaksehir (Turkey) or Burnley (England)

Sarpsborg (Norway) or NJK Rijeka (Croatia)

Hapoel Haifa (Israel) or Atalanta (Italy)

Mariupol (Ukraine) or Bordeaux (France)

Ufa (Russia) or Progres Niederkorn (Luxembourg)

Apollon Limassol (Cyprus) or Dinamo Brest (Belarus)

Sturm Graz (Austria) or AEK Lanarca (Cyprus)

Sigma Olomouc (Czech Republic) or Kairat Almarty (Kazakhstan)

Spartak Subotica (Serbia) or Brondby (Denmark)

The draw is set to take place this coming Monday 6th August at 12:30pm, where Rangers will be placed into a smaller seeding group once UEFA take into account other draw factors such as country protection.

The play-off stage is the final qualifier before the group stages begin.

There are some monster teams in the opposing half of the draw and making the group stages would be a massive achievement, but it’s so far so good from the team and we can’t wait to see what happens next.

Clearly the focus of Steven Gerrard’s squad will solely be on the upcoming Maribor tie, the first leg of which is due to take place next Thursday night at Ibrox.

Do you think Rangers will get past the Maribor tie? Will we reach the group stages? Let us know in the comments…
