Rangers fans don’t have much faith that striker Umar Sadiq will ever make an impression at Ibrox this season after a slow start to his loan move from Italian side Roma.
The Nigerian has made just three substitute appearances since making the switch from Serie A this summer and has been publicly criticised by manager Steven Gerrard, who admitted he is hoping to get a reaction out of the player.
With Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty ahead of him in the pecking order, it has been difficult for the striker to get regular first-team action but it’s sounds like, from Gerrard’s comments, that he hasn’t exactly been knocking on the door with his efforts in training.
There was a bit of hype around his arrival earlier in the summer considering he joined from Roma and the fact he had a successful loan spell in Eredivisie in the second half of last season.
Plenty of fans appear to have given up on him though, with 65% of respondents to a poll we published last week believing he will never impress in a Rangers shirt.
